“Hilfe von Mensch zu Mensch”
Bosnian refugees who arrived in different European countries also formed or joined groups in order to organize their activities and better articulate their demands to the public and relevant authorities of their host countries. One such individual is Sadija Klepo, who arrived in Germany in summer 1992 as a refugee. Mere weeks later, she launched an initiative that led to the creation of the “Hilfe von Mensch zu Mensch” (Help from human to human) association, located next to Bonn. She held lectures in schools and charitable associations across Germany to inform and sensitize the German public to the fate of refugees in Germany and the situation in her homeland, as well as to collect donations. She and her association organized numerous convoys to different parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina, including very inaccessible areas such as Goražde. After the war Sadija Klepo and her association helped Bosnian refugees who were returning to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The “Hilfe von Mensch zu Mensch” association continues to be active today, supporting refugees and migrants from all over the world who are coming to Germany.
